The history of Arzuffi begins in 1986.

Founded by Danilo Arzuffi, the company started its first steps in the market by constructing high-vacuum metallization systems for the Italian and European markets.

Thanks to their great expertise in machinery design and construction, Arzuffi quickly distinguished itself for its flexibility and reliability, becoming a major supplier to multinational companies in the automotive industry.

Among Arzuffi’s clients are companies such as Marelli Automotive Lighting, Valeo Group, Varroc Plastic Omnium (Varroc Lighting Systems), Hella (Forvia Group), ZKW, Magna, XYL, Koito, Stanley, SL, Odelo-Farba and many other Tier-1 suppliers in the automotive sector.

Today, Arzuffi has gained a prominent position globally as a leading supplier of high-vacuum systems for the automotive industry, surpassing the stringent technical specifications required by OEMs.

With over 30 years of experience, the company has surpassed all boundaries, becoming a point of reference for many other industries, including lighting, cosmetics, decoration, ceramics, special applications (leather and fabrics), furniture, and glass.

The company has always kept up with the new demands of the market by introducing new technical solutions, such as using the cryogenic trap in the chamber, developing new processes like the ADP (Arzuffi Deposition Process), adopting new PVD technologies like reactive sputtering, and constructing state-of-the-art fully automated machines.

In December 2023, following the acquisition by Italian Strategy, the private equity firm managed by Riello Investimenti SGR, Arzuffi became part of a group formed by Protec Surface Technologies, a leader in the design and supply of PVD and PECVD coating systems for decorative and functional applications, and Protim, a leading coating center in Italy and Europe for decorative applications. This new group not only represents the first and only major hub of the Italian PVD industry but aims to position itself as the European leader in the production of machinery and coating centers, creating a center of innovative excellence in the national and international vacuum coating technology landscape.

Today, with over 790 high-vacuum coating systems located in more than 35 countries, Arzuffi is a globally recognized brand in the surface coating sector.
